False Start
Okay, so it was 7 PM EST (not 8 PM like the press release said). :crybaby:
Hope everybody else caught it. I didn't but will on the replay at 10 PM. The heck of it is, Rick called at about 4 PM to check in, and the time was never mentioned. Not to mention the dozen or so texts we trade every week. I am so bummed over this. Bottom line: Don't believe everything you read! :( |
Well done Rick.

Born To Run
Great job last night, Rick!
:occasion: Very professional and with zero stagefright or nervousness. At least on the outside: I'm sure there were a few butterflies churning on the inside! You did yourself, the PGA, and LBG proud. After the preliminary PGA Lesson Month Q&A with Michael Breed, Rick was left with only a few minutes to teach. Once on, he focused on the basics: The Flat Left Wrist; Rhythm; and Plane Line Tracing. Plus, he hit every demo shot on the money and with perfect alignments! :notworthy: Rick and I talked last night after the 7 PM live broadcast -- that's how I found out the 8 PM time was wrong! -- and he told me he gave football coaching great Lou Holtz (another guest on the show) an impromptu backstage lesson. This past January during the PGA Teaching and Coaching Summit, I also gave Lou a lesson, so he now has officially been double-teamed by the LBG crowd! :laughing9 Again, Rick, great job. Proud of you! :salut: |
Murphy-Breed Golf Show
Hi Rick, very impressive job last night. Plane-Line Tracing on the 100th Anniversary Show. That's something I'll never forget. Refreshing.
|
I really feel terrible. I had some Right-Left-Right-Left-Right-Left going with community education beginner lessons during the show last night. I sure hope I can catch a rerun sometime. Anyway, I'm very happy to hear it went so well, we knew it would. Rick is a FIRST CLASS GENTLEMAN and a great representative for Mr. Kelley and our man YODA!

Can we do this? I remember one time we posted an active TGC vid of Moe Norman, and they got so many hits they told us we were overloading their server! :eyes: So, we took it down. I'm sure there are a number of LBG-ers who recorded the episode, and we could extract and post Rick's portion. Anyway, shoot me a PM and let's discuss. :3gears: |
It's not on the TGC website, nor has it surfaced on YouTube yet. I have it DVR'ed and may be able to find a way to get his portion recorded. If any members have it digitized, PM me!

Rick Murphy - Golf Channel "The Fix"
WOW! Thanks to you guys that took the time to respond! It was an incredible experience and I really enjoyed it...would like to have had 5 additional minutes to actually cover what I wanted to cover....but it was great...Had the idea to cover one of the first things I do with each and every student first....that is to find out what they think about their golf swing and the concepts they have in their mind...I usually find that they do exactly what they think they should do and they do it perfectly...but it just might not be effective :crybaby: ...this conversation about their concept of the golf swing opens the flood gates for real understanding when they see that it is merely geometry..aka...the motion and alignments. And physics...aka...the action and power of the swing :salut:
Great to work with Mr. Lou Holtz for a few minutes before the live show...Incredible how good the producers are and how the entire show is put together! Good stuff! Practice session for more later.......:) OH! The make up was thick!:laughing9 |
